Au PairSpring Institute, accredited by ACCET, offers ESL classes as well as an American Culture and Language course for Au Pairs living in Denver and Colorado Springs. Each 36 hour course is designed to fulfill the requirements of the U.S. State Department regulations for Au Pairs (see the links below for additional information).
The theme for the course changes each semester. Example themes include, Native Americans, Famous Coloradans, the Lewis and Clark Expedition, Food and American's Eating Habits. Each course includes one Saturday walking/study tour of Denver (with the Colorado Springs students in attendance) and one Saturday study tour of Colorado Springs (with the Denver students in attendance). Students also explore the cycle of adjustment curve, where culture shock is discussed. Finally, students make an oral presentation on an aspect of the theme studied that semester. Each student receives a certificate of attendance upon completion of the course. 2009 WINTER/SPRING COURSES IN DENVER
